CREATING A CATCHY SONG
if you've been looking for an answer on how to write a good song which am sure is the reason why you are here, i must say welcome and at the same time assuring you that after reading this article you will start writing great songs like your role model. i made this article as short as possible that you can read and understand it with ease.
Creating a Song
Song writing really allows the writer to express their thoughts and ideas in a beautiful way. Naturally, when writing a song you want it to "catch on" and become well known. The title of the song is very important and should serve to describe the content. Good lyrics that rhyme and tell the story, having a beginning, middle and end are crucial, and naturally good music that the listener will enjoy, goes without saying. What is equally important, and what this article is all about, is the Chorus Lines or "Hook," which is critical to making a song catchy and memorable. This is the part of the song that people will usually remember first, and if you chorus is easy people will sing along with it.
The chorus should be one that anyone would not be ashamed to sing along with. When writing a song you want it to appeal to the greatest number of people, thus, your lyrics should be as universal as possible.
You should write to get a big audience not writing against girls or guys in general, instead you can write against a particular girl, name or a particular guy. By so doing you can still capture other people whether guy or girl that there name is no mentioned in your song,
When you write lyrics, put your sentiments in the song structure: verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, and then chorus. Your verses tell the story that leads to your chorus. Your chorus sums up your verses; and your bridge, usually two lines long, contrasts your verses.
INSTRUCTIONS
song writing should be carried out in a conducive environment as it on its own is a craft that requires creativity and imagination.
The most popular song has a message and for your song to be a hit it should pass a message to your listeners making them to sit back and think or re-think about their past real life experience. That is why most Hit songs are always either a love song (brake up, make up or a new girl friend) Hard times (Life story) about some ones death etc. as am very convinced that you must have encountered one of this in your life, so any song that has this message is likely going to hook you.
Below are the steps to writing your hot songs
STEP 1 WRITING A GOOD TITLE.
Decide on your title: find a fantastic phrase, a rhyme, alliteration, opposites or a twist on a cliché.
Analyze your title. Is it fun to sing? Is it fun to say? Does it perfectly sum up your theme?
Think about whom are you writing your lyrics for and what you want your audience to feel when they hear it.
STEP 2 WRITING A GOOD CHORUS
The chorus lines comes next and should depict what the song is about. Sometimes the hook will even duplicate the title of the song. If you want your chorus to be memorable that people can easily remember and sing it always just like I made this article easy for you to read and understand. Keep it simple, symmetrical and catchy.
Use a rhyme scheme though not compulsory but it beautifies your work. Repeat your title in the chorus. Begin with your title and end with your title. The chorus should blend with the rest of the song so it doesn't sound like two different songs,
Your chorus should be words that tell the whole story in very few words with each sentence leading to the next. Each line/sentence or phrase in your song be it chorus, or verse should be one that makes your listener to think or imagine what will happen next. If you want to rhyme your chorus, your rhyme should make sense and still unfolding your story.
STEP 3 WRITING YOU FIRST VERSE
you have to make you that you grab the listener's attention in first verse. Start strong and establish who, what, when and where. Throw the listener right into the middle of the action; keep them in suspense, trying to find out what will happen next. Be conversational. Say it in the most natural, normal way. Be consistent with your pronouns throughout. Use the same rhyme pattern throughout.
STEPS 4 WRITE YOUR SECOND VERSE.
Tell what happened next. If you are not intending to write a verse three, you should make sure you finish you story here, there is no chance for part two in music, you have only have just 3 minutes and few seconds to get people interested in you story. It ends it ends.
Step 4 WRITING A GOOD BRIDGE.
your bridge should be something slightly different but still connects to the song. You can also add new information, this is a great place for a twist.
STEP 5 PREVIEWING AND CRITICIZING YOUR SONG
Analyze it. Does it make sense? Does each line deliver your title?
Rewrite everything that isn't perfectly clear.
Create a melody or find a melody writer.
Step 6
Record your song and give to good friends to criticize you first, make corrections before taking it to the public.
