I got this tip form a friend of mine who is a renowned songwriter, about the secret behind his written which he has used to write for so many Star and it made a Hit. I practiced this exercise, and writing become a bit easier for me. I thought about you my friend and decided that I did let you know of what I found.
The exercise is very simple that everybody can do it but not been informed is why ignore it. And here is the secret.
Pick a song you love probably from you model.
Get a pen and a paper and rewrite the lyrics of the song from start to finish.
As you are writing these lyrics by hand you will realize that you are going through a similar thought process as original writer who wrote the lyrics. You will be feeling the emotions behind the song, the reason why it was written and to whom it was written for.
As you do this, the whole thing sticks to your head.
Immediately after doing this try to write your own song, try to make it pass a similar message but in your own words.
You will notice the magic behind this.
